Kickoff to Summer
Saturday, June 10th - downtown Tipton!


4TH OF JULY 2023

Come visit Tipton to celebrate the 4th of July! The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. from the Courthouse and ends at the city park. Parade theme: Party Like It's 1779! 2023 Grand Marshal, Mary Barnum.

TOUCH A TRUCK

Will be held on August 5, 2023 in downtown Tipton!  This family "Free" event offers children and adults a hands-on opportunity to explore working trucks of all types!

RIDICULOUS DAY  

Great bargains await shoppers during Tipton's annual Ridiculous Day, the first Friday in August. A decades' long tradition, Ridiculous Days coincides with the Cedar County Heath Fair.

SNAGGY RIDGE 105 GRAVEL BIKE RACE

Date has been scheduled for Saturday, September 16th and plans for this gravel bike race are underway!  

TRUNK OR TREAT

Held the Sunday before Halloween at the city park, come experience Halloween with local businesses and organizations. Children will receive candy/treats from decorated trunks. Wear your Halloween costumes and enjoy the fun!

Tipton businesses celebrate Small Business Saturday® every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday is dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country and is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide campaign founded by American Express to bring awareness to shopping local and supporting small business. The first Small Business Saturday was held November 27, 2010 and in 2011 the US Senate officially recognized Small Business Saturday. In 2012, millions of shoppers participated, consumer awareness reached 67% and it had an estimated consumer spending of $5.5B. More neighborhoods than ever celebrated Small Business Saturday in 2013 with over 1,450 Neighborhood Campaigns signed up to rally their communities. This one small day has grown into a movement that millions of individuals, businesses, and communities have embraced nationwide! 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Iowa Coffee Cup located next to the gazebo.
9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Ladybug Concessions located on the green space.
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Ornament Decorating at the Oasis.  No cost. Ornaments are encouraged to be used to decorate the Community Christmas Tree.
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Expressions offering ornament making for $1 each.  403 Cedar Street.
2:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. Trolley Rides provied by the Lions Club.  Pick up & Drop off locations are the Hardacre Theater and Tipton Public Library.  Sponsored by Circle P Veterinary Services
2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Santa pictures at Taylor Milton Photography.
2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Letter writing at the Tipton Public Library.  Drop off letters addressed to Santa at a special mailbox located at Citizens Bank.  The letters will be deliered to the North Pole.
2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Balloons & Face Painting at Theisen's.
2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Corp & Morp Crafts selling laser engraved gifts located at 417 Cedar Street. Sponsored by Cummins Mfg., Inc.

 Aavantis, LLC will be providing Prppermint Stick & Egg Nog frozen yogurt for everyone or until supples are gone! Look for their wagon!

4:30 p.m. Parade line up behind the Courthouse on Meridian Street.
Parade route: 
Begin route on Meridian Street behind the courthouse heading north, cross Hwy 130, turn right on 10th Street, turn left on Mulberry Street (go past Cedar Manor through their horseshoe drive NOT under the canopy). turn right on North Street, turn right on Plum Street, cross Hwy 130, turn right on 5th Street and turn left on Meridian Street behind the courhouse where the parade ends.
4:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. Carolers on the courthouse square.  UCC Carolers at the gazebo followed by Hope Church Carolers at 5:30 next to the Community Christmas Tree.
5:00 p.m. Lighting the Community Christmas Tree by Mayor Bryan Carney.  Holiday Prince and Princess will read their winning essays and the communmity will decorate the tree with their ornaments.
*Remember to vote for your favorite 'Downtown for the Holidays' Display.  The contest will be held November 25th - December 10th.
