Cedar County's premier farmers market set in the heart of historic downtown Tipton, Iowa. You will find a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, eggs, flowers, baked goods, homemade crafts, soaps, candles, and much more. The farmers market is held each Thursday from 3-5 pm at 313 Cedar Street - Kofron Building the months of November and April.  When the weather warms up, the farmer’s market will be moved to the northwest court house lawn and will be open from 4-6 pm in the warm months of May through October.

Great bargains, vendors, face painting, music in the gazebo and tours of the Old Cedar County Jail await shoppers during Tipton's annual Ridiculous Day, the first Friday in August. A decades' long tradition, Ridiculous Days coincides with the Cedar County Heath Fair.

Weekend shoppers can find ridiculous deals, good food and fun on the courthouse square during Tipton Ridiculous Days!


Held the Sunday before Halloween at the city park, come experience Halloween with local businesses and organizations. Games, face painting, goodies, Gunny the Clown, a bouncy house, and “trunk or treating” will all take place. Children will receive candy/treats from decorated trunks. Wear your Halloween costumes and enjoy the fun!

Tipton businesses celebrate Small Business Saturday® every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday is dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country and is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

In addition to discounts at local businesses, special activities are always planned for more fun! Some of the activities have included  book signings, wine tastings, cookie decorating, face painting, vendor fairs and the event also coincides with the Old Cedar County Jail's Holiday Open House and Bake Sale. Small Business Saturday also kicks off the Tipton Chamber of Commerce's annual 'Ca$h for Christmas' promotion!

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide campaign founded by American Express to bring awareness to shopping local and supporting small business. The first Small Business Saturday was held November 27, 2010 and in 2011 the US Senate officially recognized Small Business Saturday. In 2012, millions of shoppers participated, consumer awareness reached 67% and it had an estimated consumer spending of $5.5B. More neighborhoods than ever celebrated Small Business Saturday in 2013 with over 1,450 Neighborhood Campaigns signed up to rally their communities. Lighting of Tipton's Community Christmas Tree by the Mayor is held the last Saturday of November at 5 p.m. at the northwest corner of Cedar and 4th Street.  Special music and refreshments


Tipton’s Christmas Celebration and Tour of Lights is held on the second Saturday of December in downtown Tipton. Enjoy the charm of the popular horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas Carolers, and a community soup supper. Take a stroll through historic downtown where businesses will be open. Holiday music and treats will be available to enjoy as well. Don’t forget to include some holiday shopping at local businesses and meet Santa Claus. Bring coats, mittens, and kids and enjoy the Holiday Season with family and friends in downtown Tipton.
