Heath Holub, BA, Ma Ed.
Chief of Police
Chief Holub is a Tipton High graduate, and joined the TPD in August 2010. Chief Holub has previously served with the USMC Force Recon, Marion Police Department, Boeing Executive Protection, and Triple Canopy Special Defense Services.


Brad Peck
Officer
Officer Peck joined the TPD in 1998 as a reserve officer and graduated as a certified peace officer from ILEA in 2002. Officer Peck is LEIN certified, and is a defensive tactics, domestic abuse, and defensive knife tactics instructor for the department.

 

Paul Kime
Officer
This is my fifth year with the Tipton Police department. I began my law enforcement career fresh out of high school when I enrolled in a Law Enforcement program for my associates degree. I graduated from Kirkwood College in 2002 with a Associates degree in Law Enforcement. While pursuing my degree, I also enlisted in the Army Reserves. While in the Reserves, I completed basic training at Fort Benning, GA and obtained my advanced training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. I was a distinguished honor graduate in chemical equipment and chemical munitions delivery systems. I have received advanced weapons training on the Mk 19 40mm grenade launcher and 50 caliber machine gun. I am an expert shot with the 50 cal. and finished first in a battalion level competition. I also completed two deployments for Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom at a forward firebase near Baghdad. I attained the rank of Sergeant, and I was a Platoon Sergeant, a squad leader, and have combat tactical experience. I received my honorable discharge from the Army in 2007, after 8 years of service. In 2003, I graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Des Moines. I have participated in the “Active Shooter/Tactical Movement” training sponsored by the Iowa State Patrol at Tipton High School.

Lisa Kepford
Officer
I have been a certified Police Officer in Tipton for two years, graduating from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Prior to this I was a Reserve Officer for Tipton for a year. I have a BS degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology. During the last 10 years, I have worked with the various law enforcement agencies in Cedar County, dealing with delinquents and volatile situations throughout the county. I have an extensive knowledge of the County and the dynamics of the communities involved. I have been a certified EMT-Emergency Medical Technician for the past 10 years. I am a Nationally trained Domestic Violence trainer. I also have training in: Critical Incident Management, Hazardous Materials, Radio Communications, Chemical Munitions, Bombing & Arson, and Terrorism Awareness. I participated in the “Active Shooter/Tactical Movement” training conducted at the Tipton High School building, and sponsored by the Iowa State Patrol. I am certified in Firearms, ASP Baton and Chemical Munitions. I will soon be attending Firearms Instructor’s school at the Iowa Law Enforcement academy.

Curt Woode (not pictured)
Officer
Officer Woode joined the TPD in December 1997 as a reserve officer and graduated as a certified peace officer from ILEA in 2004. Officer Woode also serves as the Fire Chief for the City of Tipton, being a certified Firefighter 1 and 2, and is a career firefighter with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.

Officer Gehrke joined the TPD in September 2010, and also currently serves with the Mount Vernon Police Department. He is a certified Bike Patrol officer and Defensive Tactics instructor for the department.
 
Greg Hall

Officer Hall has been with the Tipton PD since December 2006. He served as a State Water Patrol Officer for 5 years, and is the department instructor for the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Officer Hall holds a B.S. from Upper Iowa University.

Noah Krob (not pictured)
Officer
Officer Krob began with the Tipton PD in April 2010, and is also currently a Park Ranger with the Cedar County Conservation Board. He is a lifelong resident of Tipton, and holds a B.S. from Upper Iowa University.

Corey Hagerman (not pictured)
Officer
Officer Hagerman joined the TPD in February 2011, after previously serving with the Oelwein and Belle Plaine Police Departments. He graduated from ILEA in 2004 and is currently employed by Skogman Realty.

Bart Montgomery (Reserve)
Reserve Officer Montgomery joined the Tipton PD in February 2011. He has been a local business owner for 28 years, and became a TPD Reserve to continue his involvement in the community.
 
Mike Moore (Reserve)
Reserve Officer Moore joined the Tipton PD in February 2011 with the implementation of the Reserve program. Officer Moore is also a local business owner and a lifelong resident of Tipton, and became a TPD Reserve to serve his hometown.
 
Greg Helmers (Reserve)

Reserve Officer Helmers joined the TPD in February 2011; he graduated from the University of Iowa and is Mandt certified, and has previously served with Tanager Place and Linn County Detention Center. RO Helmers is currently employed by Global Resources, Inc.
