Holiday Garbage & Recycling Schedule 2006

* Recycling and garbage that would normally be picked up on Thursday 11/23 and Friday 11/24 will both be picked up on Wednesday, 11/22, including yard waste.

* Waste Management Customers: normal 11/24 pickup has been oved to 11/25.

* For the week of 12/18, normal pickup schedule for Monday & Tuesday. Recycling that would normally be picked up on Thurs. 12/21 will be picked up on Wed. 12/20. Garbage scheduled for pickup on Fri. 12/22 will be picked up on Thurs. 12/21.

* For the week of 12/25, Garbage scheduled for Mon. 12/25 will be picked up on Tues. 12/26. Recycling scheduled for Tues. 12/26 will be picked up on Wed. 12/27. Rest of the week resumes normal pickup schedule.

* Waste Management Customers: week of 12/18 is normal pickup schedule. Week of 12/25, all pickups bumped one day later than normal.

* LAST DAY for yard waste pickup for 2006 is Wednesday, 11/29.

* Follow the same schedule for New Year's week (1/1/07) as Christmas week.

Beginning in the fall of 2006, the City of Tipton upgraded their waste collection system to include an automated garbage truck. This roll-out required the cooperation of various City departments and residents. The program has been an overwhelming success and has streamlined the garbage and recycling collection programs in Tipton, saving staff time and money. All materials to be picked up are to be placed along the curb before 7:00 a.m. on its appropriate day for service to guarantee pickup.

Monday: Garbage south of 7th Street.
Tuesday: Recycling south of 7th Street.

Wednesday: Yard waste for all residents.
Extra pickups – to be pre-scheduled.

Thursday: Recycling north of 7th Street.
Friday: Garbage north of 7th Street.

(South side of 7th Street is picked up with South route. North side of 7th Street is picked up with North route.) Tipton’s Recycling Center, located at the Lower Shop on West South Street, will be open Monday though Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
