Beginning in the fall of 2006, the City of Tipton upgraded their waste collection system to include an automated garbage truck. This roll-out required the cooperation of various City departments and residents. The program has been an overwhelming success and has streamlined the garbage and recycling collection programs in Tipton, saving staff time and money. New Resident Information

All materials to be picked up are to be placed along the curb before 7:00 a.m. on its appropriate day for service to guarantee pickup.

Monday: Garbage south of 7th Street.
Tuesday: Recycling south of 7th Street.

Wednesday: Yard waste for all residents.
Extra pickups – to be pre-scheduled.

Thursday: Recycling north of 7th Street.
Friday: Garbage north of 7th Street.

(South side of 7th Street is picked up with South route. North side of 7th Street is picked up with North route.) Tipton’s Recycling Center, located at the Lower Shop on West South Street, will be open Monday though Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
