Tipton Community Bicycle Ride ~ Earth Day

Let’s go for a bike ride! As part of Tipton’s celebration of Earth Day, we will have a community bike ride for anyone wanting to join in the fun!  The celebration will be Sunday, April 22nd in the Tipton City Park.  There will be displays at 12:00 p.m., join a community walk around the track at 12:30 p.m., opening ceremonies at 1:00 p.m., Go Fly a Kite at 1:30 p.m., tree planting with Sarah followed by the bike ride at 2:00 p.m. Get your bike out, air up the tires, grab your helmets and let’s get ready to ride!

Friday, April 20thDowntown clean-up with Tipton Middle School Students & placing pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention week on the courthouse lawn
 
Saturday, April 21st City Park Clean-up and painting
 
Sunday, April 22nd –  In the City Park:
12:00 p.m.
Displays by local businesses and organizations: Cedar County Extension Service, Adaptive Daycare, Bee Keeping, Public Health, Theisen’s – Free seeds and coupons and much more!

 
12:30 p.m. – A Walk in the Park, community walk before ceremonies
 
1:00 p.m. – Invocation in the park by Pastor Tommi Boedder of 1st UCC, Flag raising and Pledge of Allegiance by Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts, Joyce Kilmer’s poem “Trees” by Allison Ryan (February KCRG Student of the Month), Mayoral Earth Day Proclamation, Mayor Bryan Carney and announcement and reading of winning Middle School Earth Day Essays
 
1:30 p.m. – Go Fly a Kite, Kite flying contest
 
1:45 p.m. – Tree planting in the City Park

2:00 p.m. – Community Bicycle Ride sponsored by Cedar County Bicycle Coalition
