Public Reception for Tipton City Manager Candidates
The City of Tipton is hosting a public reception for the four finalists for its City Manager position. The reception is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Tipton Fire Station, 301 Lynn Street.
The finalists for the position are:
Nicholas Tietsort most recently served as the Deputy Spokesperson of Public Safety at the University of Missouri. Prior to that, he worked as Emergency Management Coordinator in Cole County, Missouri and Emergency Management Coordinator and as a Sheriff’s Deputy in Audrain County, Missouri. He holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Missouri.
Andrew Kida is the City Administrator of Camanche, Iowa, a position he has served in for the past 9 years. His previous experience includes service as an elected village trustee and in the U.S. Navy. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Ashford University.
Tammi Goerdt currently serves as the Director of Continuing Education and Outreach Programs at the Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety, a position she has held since 2016. Her previous experience includes 15 years as a Clinic Operations Manager. She has served as Mayor of Tipton since January 2024.
Tom Doermann is Associate Vice President of Operations at St. Ambrose University- Mount Mercy Campus. He previously served in a similar role for Mount Mercy University prior to the strategic partnership between those two entities. His previous experience includes service as a City Administrator in North Liberty and in West Burlington. He holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Iowa.
The candidates will interview with elected officials and other invited participants on Saturday, January 3. The selected candidate will replace Brian Wagner, who is retiring from the position after 9 years of service for the City of Tipton.
