CELEBRATE TIPTON!

Thursday on the Square brings regional musicians to the courthouse gazebo every Thursday evening in June and is held in conjunction with the Tipton Farmer’s Market. The market assembles on the north side of the square during the summer months and moves to an indoor location in the colder months. You will find a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, eggs, flowers, baked goods, homemade crafts, soaps and candles at the Tipton Farmer’s Market. Also, there is an additional market held on Saturday mornings on the south side of the courthouse square.

The Fourth of July means a parade through downtown Tipton and entertainment, vendors, kid’s games and the traditional fireworks at dusk in the city park. The Old Fashioned Christmas & Tour of Lights is held the second Saturday in December. Tipton shows its holiday spirit with horse drawn carriage rides, a Christmas concert, community soup supper and a visit from Santa.

The first full weekend in August is the date for Tipton Ridiculous Days and the Hardacre Film Festival which is the longest-running independent film festival in Iowa. One of the primary goals of the Hardacre Film Festival is to bring a diverse selection of cutting-edge independen tmotion pictures to an Eastern Iowa audience who otherwise would not have an opportunity to view these films.

Tipton is home to the Cedar County Fair and the Cedar County Speedway, where exciting stock car racing happens every Friday night April through September.
