The Tipton Public Library is a Carnegie library that dates back to 1903. In addition to the rich history and fantastic collection of materials for checkout, they house a unique art collection featuring Grant Wood, Polly Kemp, and Marvin Cone.
The City of Tipton offers an outstanding Park & Rec Department where you will find a number of excellent recreational opportunities. The Park & Rec Department is located in the 33-acre Tipton City Park and is home to the Tipton High School football field and track, a lighted softball diamond, tennis courts, horseshoe courts, new playground equipment, an 18-hole disc golf course, youth ball diamonds, three pavilions with adjacent fireplaces and the James Kennedy Family Aquatic Center.

New residents can update their driver's license and vehicle registration at the Cedar County Courthouse located at 400 Cedar Street in Tipton. The Driver License Office is located in the Treasurer's Office, hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Driver license testing is Monday - Thursday from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM. Driving tests will be done on Wednesday's by appointment.
