Tipton Masonic Cemetery

The Tipton Masonic Cemetery is located southwest of Tipton on County Road F36/Cedar Valley Road.

Historical Information: Old Town, also known as the Tipton Cemetery, was the first cemetery in Tipton. It was located where the Tipton Community High School now stands on East Sixth Street. Burials in the cemetery declined in numbers and reburials were eventually made in the Masonic Cemetery. The Masonic Cemetery opened in1862 and according to Work Project Administration (WPA) records, graves from the Old Town (Tipton Cemetery) were moved to the Masonic Cemetery sometime before 1930.
